Cardiac surgery causes an acute inflammatory response and organ damage. In this study, for the first time in the literature, we compared the effects of priming solutions at 20 degrees C and 36 degrees C on acute inflammatory markers and hemo-dynamic parameters. Determination of screw and nail withdrawal resistance of some important wood species

In this study, screw and nail withdrawal resistance of fir (Abies nordmanniana), oak (Quercus robur L.) black pine (Pinus nigra Arnold) and Stone pine (Pinus pinea L.) wood were determined and compared. The data represent the testing of withdrawal resistance of three types of screws as smart, serrated and conventional and common nails. The specimens were prepared according to TS 6094 standards. Pulmonary artery aneurysm and coronary artary disease in a patient previous cardiac surgery

Pulmonary artery aneurysms (PAA) are uncommon and the management of these conditions is not clear. Main PAA with high pulmonary pressure and right ventricular overload should be surgically managed because of the risk of rupture and dissection. However, isolated PAA, in the absence of left-to-right shunt or pulmonary hypertension, probably have a benign course and conservative treatment and close follow-up may be appropriate. The case of a 62-year-old patient with pulmonary artery aneurysm and coronary artery disease who had previous cardiac surgery is presented here.

We investigated the effects of desflurane anesthesia with high and low fresh gas flows on hemodynamic stability and desflurane consumption. After obtaining ethical comittee approval, 60 patients in the ASA risk groups I-II were included in the study. After anesthesia induction, the anesthesia maintenance was performed during the first 10 minutes with 4,4 L min -1 fresh gas flow and desflurane (4-6%) in all cases. A rare cause of hemorrhagic shock in children: bladder hemangioma

We report the first case of urinary bladder hemangioma that caused hemorrhagic shock consequent to massive hematuria. A 2-year-old girl was presented with hemorrhagic shock and macroscopic hematuria. After rapid resuscitation was performed, radiologic investigations demonstrated a solid enhancing mass originating from the dome of bladder. Partial cystectomy was made. Histopathologic examination of resected specimen revealed cavernous hemangioma. In this study, we present the synthesis of poly-MMA macroperoxy initiators obtained by the ATRP of MMA with bromo methyl benzyl t-butyl peroxy ester (t-BuBP) as an initiator, and CuX (X:Br or Cl)/2,2'-bipyridine (bpy) as a catalyst system at 0, 20, 30 and 40C. The peroxygen groups do not decompose during the ATRP reaction, because low reaction temperatures used for the ATRP reaction are not enough to decompose them.
