The literature of strategic entrepreneurship is one of the few areas of strategic management writing in which Joseph Schumpeter has argued that entrepreneurs create innovations in the face of competition and thereby generate economic growth. After the oil shock of 1973, studies on causal nexus between oil price and economic growth have increasingly appeared in the literature. Unlike extant literature, this study deals with two problems related to causality estimation. The first one is which oil price should be used in empirical analyses as the price of oil differs among different oil products. Instead of crude oil price, oil basket price calculated by OPEC was used in this paper since it does not exclude the price of other oil types. Second problem is that positive and negative shocks in the independent variables may asymmetrically affect dependent variable. Distinguish . . .ing positive and negative shocks may lead to different findings. Moreover asymmetric causality test may lead to inference about the sign of the causal nexus. In this study asymmetric causal links were taken into account using the novel asymmetric causality approach developed by Hatemi-J (2012). Furthermore non-normality of the error term and time varying volatility may lead to biased estimation results. So a bootstrap simulation approach developed by Hacker and Hatemi-J (2006) was used to generate critical values that are robust to non-normality and time-varying volatility. In addition, classical non-asymmetric causality test was applied with the aim of comparison. The monthly data set covers the period of 2003:1-2013:1. (C) 2014 Elsevier Ltd. Trade performance of The Middle East and North Africa (MENA) regions has been dismally progressed. In the period of 20002009, to remove obstacles on the trade, most of the MENA countries have pursued the trade liberalization policy which consists of free trade agreements and WTO membership. This study employs on panel gravity model to examine the effect of trade liberalization policy on the export of 13 MENA countries to 30 Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) trading partners. By using alternative estimators to take the zero trade problem and endogeneity problem into account, this study finds that whereas W . . .TO membership negatively affects the export of MENA countries, free trade agreements have a positive impact on the export of those countries. This study aims to investigate the learning styles of students and instructors at foreign language preparatory school of a state university. It also aims to find out whether there is statistically significant difference between the academic achievement levels of students with different learning styles and achievement levels of students who have the same learning styles as their instructors and those who do not. In this study, quantitative data was obtained from a learning styles inventory, students' placement exam scores and average exam scores within the term. The learning styles inventory was used to determine the learning styles . . .of 139 students and 12 instructors at Compulsory Foreign Language Preparatory School of Bulent Ecevit University in 2012-2013 Spring term. The data was analysed with Chi Square test and Analysis of Covariance (ANCOVA). It was found out that the most common learning style among the participants was diverging. The distribution of the learning styles did not differ according to students' gender and the high schools they had graduated. The students' achievement levels did not differ significantly according to their learning styles. It was also discovered that there were no statistically significant differences between the achievement levels of students who have the same learning styles as their instructors and those who do not. We have examined the dynamic dielectric response properties of a multiple quantum-wire system embedded in a semi-infinite plasma-like host medium assuming that each wire has just one active subband. The geometric dependence on z(0), the distance of the first quantum-wire from the bounding surface is determined. In particular, the coupled mode dispersion relation for the plasmons of an N-quantum-wire system in interaction with the surface and bulk plasmons of the host material is analyzed and its dependence on z(0) is exhibited.
